Rockets ready to match Cavs offer sheet to Lowry

Houston, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Houston Rockets plan to match the offer
sheet extended Wednesday to restricted free-agent guard Kyle Lowry.
Houston general Manager Daryl Morey said on his Twitter account
Wednesday afternoon, "we plan to match the agreement and we are excited he
will be returning to the Rockets."
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the Cleveland Plain Dealer
reported the offer was for three years with a team option for a fourth
that had the deal's value close to $24 million.
Lowry averaged 9.1 points, 4.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds over 68 games last
season for the Rockets, who wasted little time in matching Cleveland's offer.
The 24-year-old was originally selected by Memphis with the 24th overall pick
in the 2006 draft out of Villanova. He was part of a three-team trade during
the 2008-09 season that landed him in Houston.
In 237 career games between the two teams, including 30 starts, Lowry has
posted averages of 8.7 points, 3.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds while seeing time
in 23.6 minutes per contest.

With the benching of Mike James, Foye looks like he could be the starter in the T-Wolves backcourt for the rest of the season. So far, Foye has averaged 9 PPG and 2.4 assists in just under 21 minutes per game. With his new role of starter, Foye’s numbers will definitely increase. In his first game as the new starting guard this past Sunday, Foye had 10 points; five rebounds and 8 assists. More importantly, he logged 34 minutes of playing time; his third highest run of the season.
Adam Morrison, of the Charlotte Bobcats, was the favorite early on in the season after averaging 15+ PPG through the first month of the season. Ever since his torrid start, Morrison’s point production has declined each month. This really isn’t surprising, considering at 6’8” he only weighs 205 lbs. Obviously he will need to hit the weights big time during the off-season in order to keep from breaking down in the future.
