The team released a statement saying the two-time defending Finals MVP had the
procedure done last week. He's currently undergoing rehab, but is expected to
be fully recovered prior to the start of training camp on September 25.
The news comes less than a week after the team revealed center Andrew Bynum
will undergo surgery to repair a tear of the meniscus in his right knee. That
procedure is set for Wednesday.
Bryant averaged 27 points in 73 games last season, helping the Lakers to their
second consecutive title.
